+ 人類乳頭瘤病毒（HPV）是很常見的，亦是導致婦女子宮頸癌的主要原因。它也可在兩性生殖器官中引致濕疣出現，甚或引致其他部位（例如肛門、外陰、陰道、陰莖和咽喉）出現癌症。我們建議接種的子宮頸癌疫苗（加衛苗），是種非活性疫苗，能夠對抗九種（HPV 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52, 58）主要的人類乳頭瘤病毒：包括兩種（HPV 6, 11）於兩性引致約九成生殖器官濕疣、兩種（HPV 16, 18）引致約七成婦女子宮頸癌的病毒，以及兩種（HPV 52, 58）在香港常見並引致約一成六婦女子宮頸癌的病毒。研究證實這九種人類乳頭瘤病毒引致約八至九成人類乳頭瘤病毒相關癌症與疾病^。建議男女孩接種加衛苗的年齡是9歲，但9歲以上未接觸過人類乳頭瘤病毒的兒童及青少年亦能受惠。 Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) is very common and is the major cause of cancer of the cervix in women. It also causes genital warts in both sexes and probably causes cancers of the anus, vulva, vagina, penis and throat. We recommend Gardasil brand HPV vaccine, which is an inactivated (not live) vaccine protecting against 9 major types (HPV 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52, 58) of HPV. These include 2 types (HPV 6, 11) that cause about 90% of genital warts in both men and women, 2 types (HPV 16, 18) that cause about 70% of cervical cancer and 2 common types (HPV 52, 58) in Hong Kong that cause about 16% of cervical cancer in women. These types cause 80-90% of HPV related disease in women^. The recommended age for receiving the Gardasil HPV vaccine for both boys and girls is at age 9, but older children and young people will still benefit if they have not already been exposed to HPV.
